Benadryl Allergy Relief Plus Decongestant capsules provide fast-acting relief from allergy symptoms like sneezing, itchy nose, watery eyes and blocked sinuses (nasal congestion). What is Benadryl Plus?

Benadryl Allergy Relief Plus Decongestant Capsules is a fast-acting treatment that relieves the symptoms associated with hay fever and other types of allergy (e.g. pet, dust, skin.) such as sneezing, itchy nose, watery eyes and blocked sinuses/nasal congestion.

The capsules contain acrivastine, an antihistamine, and pseudoephedrine, a decongestant that works together to help provide relief from bothersome symptoms.

Ideal for providing treating symptoms associated with hay fever, dust allergies, pet allergies.

How to take Benadryl Plus?

Adults & children over 12 years: 1 capsule up to 3 times per day. No more than 3 capsules in 24 hours.

Not suitable for children under 12 years and adults over 65 years old.

Contains:

Acrivastine 8mg (antihistamine) and Pseudoephredine 60mg (decongestant).

Product Warnings

Who should not use Benadryl Plus?

This medicine should not be used by the following groups of patients without first seeking medical advice from your GP or our Pharmacist:
• Children under 12 years old and Adults over 65 years old
• Allergy to Acrivastine or Pseudoephedrine
• Diabetes
• Phaeochromocytoma
• Closed-angle glaucoma
• Hyperthyroidism, which is an overactive thyroid gland
• High blood pressure (using blood pressure medicines)
• Urinary retention problems eg those finding it hard to urinate due to enlarged prostate)
• Emphysema or other chronic lung conditions like bronchitis
• Severe Liver disease
• Moderate to Severe Kidney disease

Benadryl Plus is not suitable if you use any of the following medicines without first speaking with your GP or Pharmacist for medical advice:
• Currently using beta-blockers
• Ongoing use of other oral decongestants commonly found in over the counter cough and cold medicines
• Tricyclic anti-depressants eg Amitriptyline
• Appetite stimulants
• Ketoconazole, for fungal infections
• Erythromycin, an antibiotic
• If you are taking, or have taken in the last two weeks, drugs for depression known as Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs) or Reverse Inhibitors of Monoamine Oxidase
• Cardiac glycosides, like Digoxin

What side effects could I expect?

Benadryl Plus is generally well tolerated but the following side effects tend to be the most common:
• Headaches
• Drowsiness
• Difficulty sleeping, nervousness or dizziness
• Dry mouth or nausea
